SUPPORTING MILITARY-CONNECTED FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY
At Susquenita School District, we are proud to highlight our dedication to making sure military children feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout their educational journey.
OUR COMMITMENT TO MILITARY FAMILIES
We understand the challenges military families may face when relocating due to assignments, deployments, or transitions. Susquenita School District offers a range of programs and services designed to provide stability and continuity to military-connected students. This includes:
- Dedicated Staff and Resources: Our school district has appointed a liaison to support military families. This individual works closely with families to ensure that their unique needs are addressed and that resources are readily available.
- Transition Support: We provide resources to help students who are new to the district adjust smoothly. Our team helps with everything from enrollment to understanding how school systems may differ, ensuring a seamless transition into the new learning environment.
- Social and Emotional Support: We recognize the emotional toll that deployment or frequent relocations can take on children. Our counselors offer specialized support services to help military-connected students cope with feelings of separation, anxiety, or stress.
- Military Family Resources: We offer a variety of support services, from community groups to informational workshops, specifically tailored to the needs of military families. Our goal is to build a strong network of support for students and parents alike.
- Celebrating Military Families: We actively celebrate the contributions and sacrifices of our military families. From hosting recognition events to integrating military history and appreciation into the curriculum, we strive to honor the service of our students' family members.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Susquenita School District is dedicated to:
- Fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their background, feel supported.
- Ensuring educational stability during times of transition, so military-connected students can continue their academic success without unnecessary disruptions.
- Building a community of care where military families know they are respected and valued members of our district.
THE IMPACT ON STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Military-connected students often experience multiple school transitions, which can make it difficult to maintain friendships, adjust to new curricula, and keep up with academic standards.
Susquenita School District is committed to providing a welcoming, supportive, and enriching experience for all students. Our military-connected students deserve the best, and we will continue to go above and beyond to ensure they receive it.
