Dr. Alison Binger

I was raised right here in Perry County, where my mom owned Binger's General Store, a place where neighbors gathered and community thrived. Growing up surrounded by those connections taught me how important it is to care for one another and to celebrate creativity in everyday life. I carry those lessons into my classroom at Susquenita, where I've been teaching elementary art for over twenty years. I love guiding students through drawing, painting, ceramics, and photography, and it is such a joy to see them discover their own artistic voice and grow in confidence.

In addition to teaching, I create my own artwork in graphite and photography, often exploring themes of empathy, connection, and quiet strength. My work has been exhibited in juried shows across Pennsylvania, but my greatest pride comes from sharing the power of art with our students and families. I believe creativity can bring people together, nurture imagination, and open doors to new ways of seeing the world. I feel truly grateful to be part of the Susquenita community and to share the joy of art with the children of Perry County.

Mrs. Catrina Evans

I discovered my love of art as a child and have always been fascinated by all of it. My passion and purpose is to teach Art with the intention to inspire others, as my art teachers did for me.

I began my career as an art teacher at a school in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where I taught students ages 5-21 with various special needs. Then, I became an art teacher for Central Dauphin School District, starting at a middle school and transferring to elementary. I arrived at Susquenita School District in March of 2024, as this is my hometown, the district my daughter currently attends, and where my son has since graduated from.

I am thankful to be a part of a district which supports and encourages students in the arts. My plan is to continue to build onto the arts program, keeping our students excited about art and all the possibilities is offers!
